For atVenu Register users, below is an overview of credit card processing rates and when they apply:
Card Present:
A Card Present (CP) transaction is one in which the customer physically interacts with payment machinery using their credit card. This can include swiping a card with a magnetic strip, inserting a card with an EMV chip or tapping a mobile device with the card loaded to a digital wallet. Any transaction manually keyed in to a credit card machine does not count as a Card Present transaction, even when the card is physically present. In order to qualify as a card present transaction, the merchant must capture electronic data stored on the card.
The base processing rate for Card Present transactions via atVenu Register is as follows:
- 2.59% + $0.12 per transaction
Card Not Present:
A Card Not Present (CNP) transaction is a credit card transaction where the cardholder does not, or cannot physically present the card to the merchant upon checkout, or the card cannot be read by the credit card reader and must be manually entered.
What qualifies as a Card Not Present Transaction?
- atVenu Mobile Orders (Online Transactions): Transactions that occur via an atVenu Mobile Orders site are CNP
- Manual Entry: Transactions that occur via atVenu Register where CC details are manually entered are also CNP
The base processing rate for Card Not Present transactions via atVenu Register or atVenu Mobile Orders is as follows:
- 2.89% + $0.30 per transaction
