- Artist Tour Reporting will also represent Tax on Top where applicable
- Please note that tips are calculated against the transaction/cart total (Price+Tax)
-
The Register Report will display a tax breakout on the Home page
-
Tax inclusive:
- Tax is included in the price of the item
How do I Settle with Tax on Top?
For Venue/Festival customers, or Artists running Tour Merch Mgmt, Advanced Inventory, or MerchIQ, the Settlement process is the same for Tax Inclusive or Tax on Top. In both scenarios, tax is calculated against the Total Gross Sales amount then backed out of the total collected. See How does atVenu calculate taxes on my Settlement?
Discounts with Tax on Top: If running Discounts in combination with Tax on Top, you may see a small difference between the tax total on the Settlement vs the tax total on the Register Report. The Settlement does not take into account your discounts, so the tax on your Settlement may be higher than what was actually collected on atVenu Register. While there is no way to adjust the tax calculation on the Settlement, if you wish to reduce the Adjusted Gross by the tax portion applied to the discounted amount, you can calculate the tax that should apply to the total discounts and enter an Off Top Show Adjustment.
Enabling Tax on Top:
Tax on Top can be enabled as a default setting for your account, and can also be enabled/disabled on a per show basis. Please note, that enabling Tax on Top as your default settings does not change the tax method for any shows that have been previously created, even if they are not settled. Only future shows will take on the default setting.
To enable Tax on Top as your default account setting:
- Access your account on web
- Click Menu
- Click Account Settings
- Click Taxes
- Set the default tax method
- Click Save
Venue/Festival Account:
Please Note: For Venue accounts, be sure your default tax rates are correct under Account Settings
Artist Account:
To enable Tax on Top on a per show basis:
- When adding new shows or editing existing shows, you can enable Tax on Top under Details which will override the default Account Settings
Venue/Festival Account:
Artist Account:
Note: Food & Beverage Festival accounts must enable Tax on Top from the Edit Show page when creating new shows or editing existing shows. There is no Account Settings option. F&B Venue accounts can set Tax on Top as the default tax collection method under Account Settings, and can also edit this on a per show basis.
- You also have the ability to enable or disable Tax on Top from the Counts page or from the Settlement page
Please Note: If you disable Tax on Top, once you have already started selling through atVenu Register, your prices will change, and you will no longer be collecting tax. This will result in discrepancies at Settlement due to changing prices mid-show
More Information:
- Once Tax on Top has been enabled, your items on the Counts page will now display a Price column in addition to a Price w/Tax column
- When Tax on Top is enabled, the totals at the bottom of the Counts page are inclusive of tax
