The Gross Sales total on show Settlements is calculated differently than it is on the Register Report.
- The Gross Sales total on the Settlement is based on the total number of items sold, as determined by your physical Counts (Count In and Count Out) on the Counts page
- The Sales total on the Register Report is based on the actual transactions processed through atVenu Register
On the Settlement, since your physical Counts determine the Gross Sales, when there is a discrepancy between physical Counts, and what was processed through atVenu Register (or another point of sale), you will end up with an inaccurate cash balance after entering your Credit Card Payment Entry. atVenu will assume the Total Gross for the show should be represented as cash, until you add an entry for Credit Cards. Once you add a Credit Card entry, the Settlement will automatically update the cash total. The only way to adjust the Gross Sales total on your Settlement is to adjust your Counts.
- If the total Gross Sales on your Settlement is greater than the Gross Sales on the Register Report, this most likely means that not all cash transactions were run through atVenu Register, or wrong dollar amounts were keyed in if using Custom Amounts.
- If the total Gross Sales on the Settlement are less than the Gross Sales on the Register Report, this most likely means that there is a problem with your Counts.
If you are using atVenu Register, the Inv. Rmg quantities can be compared to your physical Count Out to help quickly identify discrepancies. As long as what you keyed into atVenu Register was accurate, and your physical counts are accurate, the quantities in the Inv. Rmg column should match your Count Out quantities. If they do not match, your Settlement Gross will not match your Register Report, which could result in a cash discrepancy.
