You can bundle your music items with other merch items and still report the music sales to SoundScan but there are very specific rules in place that must be adhered to. If the guidelines below are not followed, SoundScan can flag and ultimately reject your submitted sales. We've broken down all the possible bundle configurations and listed the specific rules associated with each below.
Bundling 1 Album with Merch Item(s):
You can report music sales bundled this way as long as each of the items in the bundle are also available for individual sale. The fan must have the option to purchase the items separately. The minimum price of the album must also be met. Minimum price for an album is $3.49 or $.99 for a single. Do not discount the bundles to the point that the minimum sale price is not met for the music item.
Bundles that include Multiple Albums:
If you bundle multiple albums together, the sale of each bundle counts only as 1 music sale, even though there are multiple music items in the bundle. You can apply this 1 sale to any 1 (but only 1) album in the bundle. The bundle sale cannot be reported as a sale for each album in the bundle.
For example: If Artist X sells: Album1 individually, Album2 individually, and Album3 individually, and a bundle of all three, they can all be reported. However that bundle can only count as a sale of one of the three albums, not a sale for each item in the bundle.
Again, all items in a multi-album bundle must also be available for individual sale, so the fan has the option to purchase any one of the albums separately.
Albums in a Bundle cannot be free:
The music item cannot be included for free within any bundle. For example, a free CD with purchase of a t-shirt cannot be reported. SoundScan will not accept free, promotional, or giveaway items as reportable sales. The minimum price of the album must be met. Minimum price for an album is $3.49 or $.99 for a single.
Bundles that contain Meet & Greet, Passes, or other Custom Items:
If your bundles contain anything outside the normal range of merch items, including: free tickets, meet & greet, or other passes or incentives, you need to contact Billboard and SoundScan to ensure the sales can be reported and obtain instructions on how to report the sales.

To Report your Bundled Music Sales using atVenu SoundScan Reporter:
Save your music items to the Music page only once per item. Do not add items as duplicates to account for bundles.
Bundles that only include 1 music item will count as normal so add those sales along with your individual music sales quantities.
Bundles that include multiple music items need to be reported differently. Keep track of how many multi-music item bundles were sold. Apply that number toward any 1 (but only 1) album in the bundle on the Sales Submission page at the end of the night.
