A red flag warning will appear next to any music item on the Sales Submission (Count) page, for which the UPC is not registered with SoundScan. It can take up to 2 weeks for SoundScan to process a new UPC registration so it is important to plan ahead, and leave enough time for the process to complete. Once processed, the registered UPC will be available in atVenu the following day.
If the registration of your UPC is not yet complete, and it is not showing as registered in the atVenu system when you submit your sales, you'll see a warning like this:
- UPC not registered at time of submission
In this case, atVenu will automatically re-submit any sales that occurred in the current reporting period for you, as long as the UPC becomes officially registered in that same reporting period. If the UPC registration process has not completed, and the current reporting period expires, you are no longer able to report the sales. Your only recourse at that point, if you'd like to attempt to report the late sales, is to contact the SoundScan Team directly at: music.merchantservices@luminatedata.com
If you perform in the US and Canada, make sure your UPC is registered in both countries. Also, make sure that the country is saved correctly for the show itself in Routing. The country saved for the Venue in Routing is what atVenu will use to report the sales. Use the scrollable country dropdown to select USA or Canada when creating your shows for new Venues.
If your UPC is not registered in the country where the show takes place, you'll see this warning:
- UPC not registered for USA at time of submission
- UPC not registered for Canada at time of submission
Again, in this case, if the UPC is still in process with SoundScan, atVenu will automatically re-submit your sales if the registration of the UPC is complete in the same reporting period the show occurred. And, as in the example above, if the registration is not complete and the reporting period expires, the sales can no longer be reported.
