Barcode scanning is available to select Venue/Festival accounts utilizing our Sports specific UI. Accounts must be enabled and configured by atVenu. Please contact support@atVenu.com for more info.
Please note supported scanner models are limited to:
- Socket Mobile SocketScan S700 (Bluetooth)
If your account is enabled for barcode scanning, please see below for all pairing instructions:
Pair the Scanner
- Access Scanner Settings within the atVenu Register app. You must be logged in to your event in order to access Scanner Settings
- Tap the Menu button in the upper left
- Tap Settings, then Scanner from the menu
- Turn on the barcode scanner by holding the power button (small button) on the scanner until you hear two beeps (low to high)
- Tap Connect
- Scan the barcode below, or the barcode displayed on the Register, by holding the trigger button (large button) until you hear three beeps (low to high)
- After you’ve successfully scanned the above barcode, Tap the Next button. You will be redirected to Device Settings > Bluetooth on the iOS device. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on the iOS device
Important: If a scanner is already paired to your device, unpair it before trying to connect to a different scanner
- Select the Socket Mobile scanner from available devices
- Return to the atVenu Register app
- Wait for the Socket Mobile Scanner status to display as connected
Please Note: If you are having issues connecting the scanner and cannot see the scanner in the iOS Bluetooth list, hold the Scanner button above the power button for 3 seconds until 'Bluetooth' flashes on the device
Test the Scanner
- Tap the Test button on the Scanner screen
- Scan the barcode below or the barcode displayed on the Register to test that the scanner is paired with the correct device
- When paired correctly, the barcode numbers will appear in the Code Scanned field after scanning the barcode
Disconnect the Scanner
It is best practice to disconnect each scanner when you are finished with the event. To disconnect a scanner:
- Tap the Menu button in the upper left
- Tap Settings, then Scanner from the menu
- Tap Disconnect which will redirect you to Device Settings > Bluetooth on the iOS device
- Tap (i) next to the device and select Forget this Device
Unpair the Scanner
If you’d like to connect your Socket Mobile SocketScan to a different iOS device:
- Hold the trigger button (large button) and the Power button (small button) down together until you hear 3 beeps
- Release both buttons
Troubleshooting
- Check that your scanner is fully charged
- Make sure the scanner is paired to your iOS device and not to another device
- Check that Bluetooth is turned on within your iOS settings. If already enabled, turn it off and back on
Factory Reset
You can also factory reset your Bluetooth barcode scanner, as follows:
- Power on the scanner
- Press and hold the scan button
- Tap the power button once while continuing to press the scan button
- Keep holding the trigger button until you hear a beep (about 15 seconds)
- When you release the scan button, you will hear five confirmation beeps, and then the scanner will power off
